16 Days are over but the fight goes on

Today marks International Human Rights Day and the conclusion of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.

Mallee Accommodation and Support Program remains committed to supporting victim-survivors in our community and helping to end the scourge that is Gender-Based Violence.

“16 Days of Activism shines a light on what organisations such as MASP see every day, and encourages the community to join with us and support those affected by it,” MASP CEO Charmaine Calis said.

“But just because the 16 Days are over, we cannot get complacent and let this issue pass from our minds – every day there is Gender-Based Violence there is a need for action.”

MASP was proud to work alongside fellow community services agencies and groups in Mildura and the Mallee as part of Respect Mallee.

“The Respect Mallee campaign was a strong-united voice in the Mallee to prevent Gender-Based Violence and promote respect and equality,” Mrs Calis said.

“It was great to work alongside our fellow services and the community on this campaign and help drive real change for the Mallee.”
