New MASP Swan Hill Office to expand service delivery across the Southern Mallee

Mallee Accommodation & Support Program (MASP) is looking forward to growing the organisation’s presence in the Southern Mallee with the opening of a new office at 35-41 Beveridge Street, Swan Hill.

The new office is staffed by workers from MASP’s Children, Youth and Families Department. It is also the new location for The Orange Door’s Swan Hill’s access point, moving from its previous location on McCallum Street in Swan Hill.

MASP is excited tohost their other Orange Door partners, Mallee Domestic Violence Service, Sunraysia Community Health, and Mallee District Aboriginal Service.

The Orange Door access point will provide a welcoming place for the community of Swan Hill to access support for family violence or child wellbeing support.

Victim Survivors and their families will be able to directly access services at either the Orange Door at 35-41 Beveridge Street or Mallee Domestic Violence Services located at 14-18 McCallum Street.

MASP CEO Charmaine Calis said the Swan Hill Office would boost MASP’s ability to provide services in the region.

“One of the Impact Drivers in MASP’s Strategic Plan 2022-2025 was to advance the necessary planning and partnerships to improve service delivery across the broader Mallee, and I am glad to say this development absolutely fits into that,” she said.

“I can’t wait to see the impact MASP can have now with a solid base to work from in the region.”

Minister for Prevention of Family Violence Natalie Hutchins said the new facility in Swan Hill will make it easier for people to get the support they need, closer to home.

“The opening of this new space means that people can walk through the doors and get connected to the services they need – in a safe and welcoming space.” Minister Hutchins said.

“With the Orange Door network expanding right across the state, we’re improving access to vital services for all Victorians no matter where they live.”

The opening of the new MASP Swan Hill Office will be celebrated from 12pm on May 20 with a smoking ceremony and office tour followed by a BBQ lunch cooked by Swan Hill Sunrise Rotary Club.
