Two leading social services providers, Mallee Accommodation & Support Program (MASP) and Mallee Family Care (MFC), are thrilled to announce their successful collaboration as they prepare to deliver the Department of Education’s Navigator Program in the Mallee area. The Navigator Program aims to support disengaged young people in their journey back to education and learning and will be jointly implemented by MASP and MFC from January 2024.
By leveraging their expertise and resources, the partnership between MASP and MFC represents a significant step towards enhancing the support and opportunities available to the youth and families in the Mallee region.
“We look forward to a fruitful partnership with Mallee Family Care as we embark on a journey to provide holistic support to young individuals and their families through the Navigator Program.”
“Our combined efforts will create a powerful support system that addresses the challenges disengaged youth face and paves the way for their successful reintegration into education,” said Vincent Wilson, the CEO of MASP.
Mallee Family Care CEO, Teresa Jayet commented “that there are many reasons that make attending school very difficult for some young people. This targeted education program focuses its support to not only young people, but to their families and schools. Jointly with MASP, our aim is to encourage young people to reconnect with education and ultimately, to help young people identify their strengths and skills and set them up for success”.
MASP and MFC recognise the valuable contributions of Mildura Rural City Council in partnership with Northern Mallee Local Learning and Employment Network, the current service providers, who have diligently worked to address the challenges faced by the community.
“Current service providers have laid a solid foundation upon which MASP and MFC can build a future of enhanced support and assistance”, added Mr Wilson.
The Navigator Program focuses on comprehensive and compassionate assistance, enabling young individuals to overcome obstacles that may have hindered their educational journey. MASP and MFC are committed to empowering the local youth to build a brighter and more promising future for themselves by offering personalised support, mentorship, and tailored resources.
