Mallee Accommodation and Support Program (MASP) has completed four new social housing units across two locations close to Mildura’s CBD.
The two developments include three three-bedroom units and one four-bedroom unit. These projects were delivered in partnership with Homes Victoria as part of the Big Housing Build.
MASP CEO Charmaine Calis said the new properties would provide housing for vulnerable and disadvantaged people in the Mildura Local Government Area.
“There were 500 applicants on the Victorian Housing Register Priority Access List for the Mildura District alone as of December 2024, so I am glad these new properties can go towards alleviating the immense stress the system is currently under to provide housing for those facing – or experiencing – homelessness,” she said.
“MASP has identified the need for a mix of housing options to accommodate people in different situations, so to be able to offer a larger space in the four-bedroom unit along with the three other slightly smaller properties is a step towards addressing that.”
Mrs Calis thanked Homes Victoria for funding the projects.
“MASP values our partnerships with funding bodies who play a huge part in helping us realise our vision of thriving Mallee communities, with individuals and families equipped to lead safe, secure, healthy and fulfilling lives,” she said.
